Pre-millennials are quite useless at this new adaption of the English language the “text language” as they call it. Its been changed to be more efficient, effective and to show emoting through things like initialisms and homophones
The most notable thing used in the text language are abbreviations. Abbreviations are always been added to the language, so to be fluent you always have to be in the loop. Other wise people will understand what ur saying in traditional English but you wont understand the abbreviations they respond with.an example of an abbreviation is for example Wuu2 (what you up too) this word is quicker than normal English because you only need to have one letter for each word and the 2 is a homophone its something that sounds like a word. and brb (be right back).most adults don’t understand and become frustrated when you use the abbreviations to communicate with them through message, and when they attempt to use them they often use them in the wrong context, they don,t think they need it so they are not willing to learn it because most people they communicate also don’t use the adaption.
A homophone is two things that sound the same thing and mean the same thing but look different. for example Y and why. the text language uses Y because its faster to type and more efficient. Another example is U and you. they both mean the same thing they sound the same but u is faster to type than you. these homophones are becoming more mainstream for the older generation as they are adapting and learning the change.
Initialism, an abbreviation consisting of initial letters pronounced separately. Initialism is when you put the first letters of frequently used together words usually 2 to 3 words. For example “jk” is just kidding. this is mostly used as a quick followup text after a teasing or hurtful comment to let the victim know that it was just a joke and that they shouldn’t get worked up. Initialism is used because its quick and efficient it’s faster to write IDK than i dont know. i think this adaption only makes sense and i hope that it becomes main stream in the years to come
In conclusion i think that the text language is the new age of the english language. With technology changing everything around us it will also change the language we use.

Some of the words suggest the singular ‘abbreviation’ and some suggest the plural ‘abbreviations’. You’ll need to tidy this up and also add capitals at the beginnings of all sentences.
